This 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 was sold new by Chesrown Oldsmobile-GMC in Columbus, Ohio, and was recently acquired by the seller from the original owner. Styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the DMC-12 features brushed stainless steel body panels mounted over a fiberglass underbody and a steel chassis derived from the Lotus Esprit. Exterior details include gull-wing doors, rear window louvers, black bumper covers, and dual polished exhaust outlets.
Turbine-style 14″ and 15″ wheels wear a mixed set of Goodyear Eagle VR60 and Goodyear Eagle NCT60 tires. The front brake calipers are said to have been serviced approximately two years ago, and the front brake pads were reportedly replaced at the same time.
The cabin features bolstered gray leather seats along with a matching dashboard, center console, and door panels. The gray carpets are protected by black DMC-branded floor mats, and additional equipment includes air conditioning, power accessories, a factory Craig AM/FM cassette stereo, and a rear parcel net.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 15k miles.
The rear-mounted 2.85-liter V6 was jointly developed by Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo. Factory-rated output was 130 horsepower and 153 lb-ft of torque. A tune-up said to have been performed approximately two years ago, and service in 2021 consisted of an oil change and replacing the battery. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle.
