This 1974 Triumph TR6 is finished in red over a tan interior and is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. According to the seller, the car was stolen from the original owner and later recovered in 1977, at which time the seller purchased it from the first owner’s insurance company. Refurbishment work under current ownership has included a repaint in the early 1990s as well as an interior refresh in 2013. Equipment includes a black convertible top, a black roll bar, a chrome luggage rack, a Pioneer stereo, 15” wheels, and a driver-side bullet-style mirror.
The car was refinished in red in 1992, at which time corrosion was repaired in the left-rear quarter panel, rear valence, and rocker panels. Equipment includes a black soft top, a black roll bar, chrome bumpers with black overriders, a chrome luggage rack, a bullet-style driver-side mirror, and Union Jack TR6 graphics on the rear quarter panels.
Silver 15” steel wheels wear TR6 center caps and are mounted with 185-series Michelin X redline tires. Stopping power is provided by front disc brakes and rear drums.
The cabin is upholstered in tan vinyl with matching door panels and carpeting and features a locking glove compartment, a Pioneer CD stereo, manual wind-up windows, and storage pockets on both doors.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a wood dash panel that houses instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 356 miles. The seller states that the odometer was replaced in 2020 after not working for several years, and the seller estimates that approximately 90k miles have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.5-liter inline-six is equipped with dual carburetors and was rated at 104 horsepower when new. The ignition coil and distributor cap and rotor were replaced in preparation for the sale, and service in August 2020 included an oil change and replacement of the battery, fuel pump, and fuel filter.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
