This 1970 Ford Ranchero was acquired by the seller in 1989 and subsequently refurbished. Five-hole 14″ alloy wheels are wrapped in 235/60 front and 245/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial TA tires. A Borgeson power steering conversion and a Saginaw pump are fitted, and braking is is from power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin has been reupholstered and the seller states that work included repainting the seat frames, installing new foam and custom covers with red stitching, and replacing the headliner, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include an aftermarket cassette stereo system and air conditioning, and the seller reports that the air-conditioning compressor was recently replaced.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and gauges for temperature and fuel level. The seller states that an instrument cluster refurbishment included installing LED bulbs and replacing the bezel and lens. The five-digit odometer shows 87k miles.
The seller reports that the 351ci Cleveland V8 was refurbished approximately 45k miles ago, at which time it was bored .020 over, balanced, and blueprinted. The engine is reportedly equipped with cross-bolted main bearing caps, a windage tray, a Keith Black camshaft, and open-chamber cylinder heads with high-flow port plates. Other modifications include a Blue Thunder hi-rise intake manifold topped, a Holley 750cfm carburetor with vacuum secondaries and an automatic choke, Doug Thorley headers, and an MSD electronic distributor and ignition module.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed C-4 automatic transmission. The seller states that the truck is equipped with a shift kit, a balanced driveshaft, and 3.25 gears in the 9″ rear end. Gabriel Load Carrier shocks are installed out back.
