This 1969 Chevrolet El Camino is finished in Garnet Red over a black interior and is powered by a replacement 396ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car was reportedly refinished in Garnet Red with a black side stripe as part of a repaint completed in 2014. Additional features include a driver-side mirror, mud flaps, SS 396 badges, and chrome trim on the wheel arches, front and rear bumpers, grille, and window surrounds.
Rally-style 14″ wheels feature polished trim rings and SS center caps and wear Bridgestone Insignia SE tires up front and Grand AM Radial G/T tires out back. The car is equipped with power steering, and work completed under current ownership has reportedly included installing front disc brakes and replacing the brake master cylinder, rear coil springs, and control arm bushings. The sway bar bushings and front shocks and were reportedly replaced under prior ownership.
The bench seating is trimmed in black vinyl and cloth with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes lap belts, manually-operated windows, vent windows, a glovebox, and an aftermarket stereo with speakers mounted behind the seat. The seller notes the headliner and carpet were replaced under prior ownership while the door panels, door seals, and window felt were reportedly replaced under current ownership.
The three-spoke steering with Chevrolet center emblem fronts a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a fuel level gauge. Additional gauges showing coolant temperature, vacuum, oil pressure, and amperage have been added. The analog clock does not work. The five-digit odometer indicates 98k miles.
The replacement 396ci V8 was reportedly installed under current ownership and is equipped with an Edelbrock Performer intake, a 750-cfm carburetor, Hooker headers, and a replacement battery, flex plate, and starter motor. The radiator was reportedly cleaned under current ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed TH400 automatic transmission that was reportedly rebuilt under current ownership. A Thrush exhaust is fitted and exits forward of the rear axle.
