This 1968 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser wagon was sold new by Dewey Griffin Oldsmobile in Bellingham, Washington, and remained in the same family into the 2000s. The car was subsequently relocated to California and then Arizona, where it was acquired by the seller in 2020. The wagon is finished in gold over a matching interior and is powered by a 400ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include skylights over the second row of seating and cargo area, 17″ REV wheels, PerTronix ignition, and a Retrosound stereo system. The air conditioning is said to have been recharged in preparation for the sale.
The car is finished in Willow Gold (G) with woodgrain lower panels and chrome trim. Features include a “Vista-Roof” with raised skylights over the second row of seating and cargo area, a roof-mounted spoiler, and wraparound taillights. The paint is worn and rust is visible on the roof, lower front fenders, and on the rear.
Silver 17″ REV wheels are wrapped in 235/55 Continental ContiProContact tires. Monroe Sensa Trac shocks were fitted in October 2004 and the center link, sway bars, and tie-rods were replaced in 2015.
The interior features two rows of seating upholstered in gold vinyl along with a matching dashboard and door panels. Features include a rear cargo area with additional storage compartments in the floor, a power rear window, sun visors for the second row of seating, and an R134a-converted air conditioning system that was reportedly recharged in preparation for the sale. A Retrosound stereo was fitted in August 2015 and includes Pioneer kick panel speakers, additional speakers mounted in the rear cargo area, and a subwoofer. Wiring was also repaired in 2015. The upholstery is torn and patched with duct tape, the driver armrest is torn, and rust is present on metal surfaces.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and an auxiliary combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 55k miles.
The 400ci Rocket V8 features a Rochester two-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 290 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. A PerTronix Ignitor III ignition coil and ignition module were installed in September 2014.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
