This 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback was modified in the style of a GT350 in the early 2000s and underwent a mechanical refreshment in 2018. Work included rebuilding the four-speed manual transmission, replacing the clutch assembly, flywheel, and steering column, performing electrical repairs, and installing a power-assisted rack and pinion steering gear along with Hotchkis suspension components. The car is finished in burgundy with white stripes over a black interior, and power is provided by a 302ci V8 that has been modified with an Edelbrock intake manifold, tubular headers, and a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. Additional modifications include polished Torq Thrust wheels, ProCar bucket seats, a roll bar, and a Hurst shifter.
Originally finished in Acapulco Blue (D5), the car was refinished in burgundy with white stripes in the early 2000s following the addition of Shelby-style front and rear fascias, a fiberglass hood with an integrated scoop and hold down pins, side air intakes, and a custom fiberglass decklid and rear spoiler. The trunk floor was replaced in 2018. Additional equipment includes Shelby badges and side stripes, grille-mounted driving lights, LED taillights, and red underside lights.
Staggered-width 15″ chrome-finished Torq Thrust wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires sized 205/60 up front and 245/60 in back. A power-assisted rack and pinion steering system was installed in 2018 along with a Hotchkis front sway bar, shocks, chassis brace, and control arms.
A pair of ProCar bucket seats are upholstered in black leather with a matching center console armrest and a fold-down rear bench. Equipment includes a roll bar, four-point Simpson racing harnesses, a Hurst shifter, a fire extinguisher, Shelby-branded floormats, and an aftermarket CD stereo with Alpine speakers and a trunk-mounted subwoofer.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel with a Shelby horn-button frames AutoMeter Phantom instrumentation which includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and readouts for water temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. Additional gauges located in the center console display information for oil temperature and voltage. The digital odometer indicates 14k miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 302ci V8 received an ignition system tune-up and a replacement starter in 2018, while an oil change, battery replacement, and fluid services are noted to have been performed in November 2021. The car is equipped with billet hood supports and the engine has reportedly been modified with the following components:
