This 1965 Ford Mustang coupe is powered by a 347ci stroker V8 that was installed in the mid-2010s and assembled with an Eagle rotating assembly, an Edelbrock intake and cylinder heads, a Holley carburetor, a COMP camshaft, and long-tube headers. Power is routed through a Fox-Body-specification five-speed manual transmission and a Trac-Loc differential, and the car rides on a modified suspension and 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels. The floors and various body panels were replaced before the exterior was refinished in blue with light blue over-the-top stripes, and the cabin is fitted with replacement Pony-style black vinyl upholstery, a Hurst shifter, aftermarket instrumentation, and a Custom Autosound Bluetooth radio.
The car was delivered from the factory in Sunlight Yellow, and the floor pans, doors, decklid, and taillight panel are said to have been replaced before the exterior was refinished in blue. Details include LED lighting, light blue hood, roof, and decklid stripes, chrome bumpers, convertible-specification torque boxes, and a grille bar with driving lights.
The 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car is equipped with a Borgeson power steering unit, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. Suspension modifications include Global West adjustable strut rods and revised rear leaf springs.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in black Pony-style upholstery that extends to the custom center console. The cabin is outfitted with a Hurst shifter, cupholders, and a Custom Autosound Bluetooth radio linked with Pyle speakers.
Instrumentation consists of a 140-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature as well as a Sunpro tachometer mounted to the steering column. Aftermarket readouts are fitted alongside the center stack.
The replacement 302ci V8 is said to have been assembled by drag racer Phil Burkart Jr. with a 347ci stroker kit with an Eagle rotating assembly as well as a COMP camshaft and roller rockers, Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads, and MSD ignition. A replacement water pump, fuel tank, aluminum radiator, and alternator were installed, and the engine breathes through a Holley carburetor atop an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold. An export brace and Monte Carlo bar span the engine bay.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 1993 Cobra-specification five-speed manual transmission that is equipped with a Centerforce clutch kit. A replacement Trac-Loc differential with 3.40:1 gears was installed during the build. JBA long-tube headers flow to Flowmaster mufflers.
The warranty number is consistent with a 1965 Mustang coupe that was built in Dearborn, Michigan, and equipped with a 289ci V8. Decoding the trim tag reveals the following information:
