This 1956 Chevrolet 210 Townsman was the subject of a custom build completed by JRW Rods and Customs of Saint George, Utah, in 2022 that involved a bare-metal repaint as well as installation of a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 and a Speedtech Performance chassis. Finished in House of Kolor brandywine and cream, the car features flush front and shaved rear door handles as well as a split rear tailgate with a V-shaped third brake light. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in tan leather and houses bucket seats sourced from a Cadillac CTS-V up front along with a custom wood floor that extends from the removed second row to the cargo area. Shifting is through a 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission linked with a 9″ rear end housing a limited-slip differential. Further equipment includes 18″ slotted alloy wheels, adjustable coilovers, Wilwood disc brakes, and a stainless-steel dual exhaust system along with retrofitted air conditioning, cruise control, and an Alpine stereo with a touchscreen head unit.
The body was stripped, repaired, and repainted in its current House of Kolor brandywine and cream finish as part of the aforementioned build. Kindig-it Design flush door handles have been added up front, while the rear door handles have been shaved and fitted with electric poppers. The quarter-vent windows have been removed, and the split rear tailgate incorporates a V-shaped third brake light along with a custom latch. Further details include LED headlights, custom side mirrors, tinted glass, and chrome bumpers and trim.
The slotted 18″ wheels from Vision Wheel are finished in cream with bright lips and finned center caps. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires are mounted at all four corners. The car is equipped with rack-and-pinion steering and rides on adjustable coilovers, while braking is handled by power-assisted Wilwood discs.
The cabin has been fitted with power-adjustable front seats sourced from a Cadillac CTS-V that are trimmed in tan leather with microsuede inserts, and matching upholstery extends to the custom center console and door panels. An Alpine head unit with navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and satellite radio capability is connected to R-Series speakers. An analog clock has been installed on the passenger’s side of the dash, and further equipment includes retrofitted air conditioning, cruise control, and power windows.
The custom Bel Air–style steering wheel is mounted to an Ididit column and accompanied by a Lokar shifter and pedals. The Dakota Digital gauge cluster features a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. The digital odometer shows just under 300 miles, which represents the mileage driven since completion. Total mileage is unknown.
A custom wood floor with stainless-steel runners extends over the removed second-row bench. The forward section of the floor folds up to reveal two storage compartments, and the drop-down tailgate is fitted with a leather-trimmed panel.
The 6.2-liter LS3 V8 is equipped with a Holley accessory drive system and wears body-color accents as well as ivory-finished valve covers with Chevrolet badging. A Performance Rod & Custom aluminum radiator with dual 16″ electric puller fans sits ahead of the engine.
The car rides on a Speedtech Performance ExtReme chassis that has been powder-coated black, and the underbody has been coated in bedliner material. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission and a 9″ rear end with a limited-slip differential and 3.55:1 gearing. The 3″ stainless-steel dual exhaust system features an H-pipe as well as Vibrant mufflers, and a stainless-steel fuel tank has been added out back.
The car is titled using chassis number VB56O007949, which is consistent with a 1956 Chevrolet 210 assembled in Oakland, California, with a V8 engine.
