This 1951 Ford Country Squire comes from the final year of “woodie” production from Ford and is finished in Alpine Blue with refurbished wood bodywork over a beige and brown interior. Power is from a 239ci flathead V8 paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission, and features include 15″ steel wheels, a windshield visor, a rear-mounted spare tire, three-row seating, and a heater.
Final assembly for the 1951 Country Squire took place at the Ionia Body Company, and this example is finished in Alpine Blue (D) with real wood paneling on the doors, rear quarters, and hatch. Other features include a split front windshield with a color-matched visor, a rear-mounted spare wheel and tire, hinged tail lamp assemblies, and chrome bumpers and trim.
Painted 15″ steel wheels wear bright trim rings, hubcaps, and Firestone whitewall tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums.
The cabin features bench seats upholstered in two-tone beige and brown vinyl as well as varnished woodgrain trim and black rubber floor coverings. Brown liners protect the rear seatbacks and cargo area floor, and heater controls are located beneath the dashboard, which also houses a glovebox and a clock.
The sale includes a third-row bench seat.
The 1951 Country Squire retained the dashboard from the 1950 Ford sedans rather than the updated version used in other models for 1951. The two-spoke steering wheel is wrapped in perforated upholstery, and instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer as well as inset auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 89k miles.
The 239ci flathead V8 features a single carburetor and an oil bath air filter housing. A new battery was installed in October 2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission.
The sale includes service records and documentation reportedly dating back to the early 1990s.
