This 1948 Ford F-3 pickup was modified by the previous owner in 2016. Changes to the truck have included installing a modified F-1 frame, a 302ci V8, Holley Sniper EFI, a five-speed manual transmission, Jaguar front and rear independent suspensions, a refreshed interior, and replacement body panels that have been repainted in black. It is also equipped with power-assisted disc brakes, power rack-and-pinion steering, an aluminum radiator, an electric cooling fan, custom dual exhaust, a wood bed floor, AutoMeter instrumentation, a tilting steering column, and black and red vinyl upholstery.
The F-3 cab was removed and placed on a short-bed F-1 frame, replacement body panels sourced from multiple trucks were installed, and the assembly was refinished in black in 2019. Exterior equipment includes running boards, windshield wipers, a door-mounted driver-side mirror, a wood slat bed floor, and dual exhaust outlets.
Red-finished steel wheels wear bright hubcaps and trim rings and are mounted with whitewall tires. The F-1 frame has been modified and front and rear independent suspensions reportedly sourced from a 1985 Jaguar XJ6 have been fitted, which include a front sway bar, power rack-and-pinion steering, and power-assisted disc brakes with rear inboard rotors.
The refreshed cabin features a bench seat upholstered in black and red vinyl, along with a black dashboard, carpets, headliner, and trim. Interior appointments include shoulder belts, sun visors, a Holley Sniper EFI display, a Wilwood clutch pedal, and glovebox storage.
The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to an aftermarket tilting column. AutoMeter instrumentation has been installed and includes a non-functioning 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for voltage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 3,905 miles, and true miles are unknown.
The 302ci V8 was reportedly sourced from a 1986 Mustang and was installed in 2017. It has been fitted with a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system, an aluminum radiator, an electric cooling fan, and tubular headers.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed T5 manual transmission and a Jaguar-sourced independent rear axle. The truck has been fitted with a custom dual-exhaust system.
The truck is titled in Missouri using VIN 87HY123076, which corresponds with the serial number on the replacement body plate shown above and is consistent with a 1948 Ford F-3 pickup.
