This 1991 GMC Suburban SLE was acquired by the seller in 2020 and subsequently modified with a 6.0-liter LQ4 V8 mated to a 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Refinished in dark blue under previous ownership, the truck rides on a lifted suspension with rear air bags and 17″ alloy wheels. Additional equipment includes a trailer hitch, running boards, air conditioning, heated and cooled front seats, a backup camera, a JVC head unit, and aftermarket speakers. Service performed during current ownership is said to have included an overhaul of the transfer case, a brake system refresh, and installation of an Offroad Design crossover steering system.
The truck was refinished in dark blue under previous ownership and features chrome bumpers, door handles, and rearview mirrors. An aftermarket grille has been installed, and other exterior details include a receiver hitch, side steps, and tinted rear windows.
Aftermarket 17″ KMC wheels are mounted with Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tires measuring 305/70. The truck rides on a 4″ lift with Bilstein front and ProComp rear shocks as well as Air Lift rear airbags with an onboard compressor and a wireless remote. Aftermarket sway bars and Warn manually-locking front hubs have also been installed. The brake system is said to have been overhauled under current ownership with a new master cylinder, front calipers and rotors, rear drums, and stainless steel lines. An Offroad Design crossover power steering system has been installed along with an aftermarket drag link, Reid Racing right-side knuckle, and Panhard rod, while the tie-rods and ends, power steering pump, hoses, and steering box are said to have been replaced.
The cabin features heated and cooled front seats from a later-model vehicle that are trimmed in black leather and complimented by gray cloth upholstery on the two rows of rear bench seats. Amenities include power windows and locks, air conditioning, cruise control, a Viper remote keyless entry system, a backup camera, a Tekonsha trailer brake controller, and a JVC stereo paired with aftermarket speakers and a subwoofer. The dash pad, carpets, weatherstripping, various switches, and air conditioning compressor were reportedly replaced under current ownership.
A four-spoke steering wheel with a GMC center cap fronts instrumentation housed in a woodgrain panel including an 85-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and ancillary instruments. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads approximately 243k miles.
The replacement LQ4 6.0-liter V8 came from a 2002 Chevrolet and was installed using a Painless Performance wiring harness. The engine is fitted with a K&N air filter as well as Derale Performance dual electric cooling fans and a Griffin aluminum radiator. The seller states that the fuel injectors, water pump, alternator, and various seals and gaskets were replaced during the engine swap. The exhaust system has been fitted with a MagnaFlow muffler.
A column-shifted 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission was also installed and is paired with an NP241 two-speed transfer case. Service performed under current ownership is said to have included a transfer case overhaul, replacement of the rear driveshaft, and re-sealing of the front and rear axles.
A Vehicle Information Label from the California Bureau of Automotive Repair has been affixed to the truck and lists the engine as a fuel-injected 6.0-liter V8 from a 2002 Chevrolet. The truck passed an emissions inspection test in July 2021.
