This 1974 BMW 3.0CS is finished in Fjord Blue over blue leather upholstery and is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes factory 14″ alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, front and rear independent suspension, a period radio, power windows, and front bucket seats. The car was sold new at Laux Motor Sales of Sylvania, Ohio, and reportedly was in storage from the mid-1990s until its acquisition by the seller in 2020, after which the brakes were serviced, the battery and tires were replaced, the carburetors were cleaned, and the fluids were changed.
The car is finished in Fjord Blue (37) and features quad headlights, bright trim, and a pillarless roofline. Fading is noted on the hood and trunk lid, and rust is present on the front fenders and around the trunk-lid badging.
Factory 14″ alloy wheels wear 195/70 Mastercraft Stratus AS tires that were mounted in June 2021. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes that were recently serviced with work including refurbishing the calipers and resurfacing the rotors as well as replacing the pads and portions of the brake lines. The car rides on front and rear independent suspension.
The cabin features blue leather upholstery with darker blue and gray carpeting along with wood trim on the dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes a period radio, power windows, and front bucket seats with adjustable headrests.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation that includes a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an inoperable analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 34k miles.
The 3.0-liter M30 inline-six was factory rated at 170 horsepower and features dual carburetors. Service in June 2021 included an oil change, a coolant flush, and cleaning the carburetors as well as replacement of the spark plugs and battery.
