This 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 roadster was reportedly modified with a 100M Le Mans conversion kit under previous ownership, then spent several years in storage before it was refurbished in the 1990s. The car is finished in white and red over red upholstery, and power comes from a rebuilt 2,660cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. Features include a louvered hood secured with a leather tie-down strap, an adjustable reclining windshield, twin SU carburetors, and a heater, while additional modifications include an alloy Fast Road cylinder head, electronic ignition, an aluminum radiator, an alternator, and a Jaguar clutch. A replacement fuel tank and valve cover gasket were installed in 2019, and a brake fluid flush was performed in October 2020.
Reportedly delivered from the factory in white, the car was refinished in its current Old English White and Reno Red during the 1990s refurbishment. Features include an adjustable windshield, a louvered hood with a leather tie-down strap, Lucas headlights and turn signals, and chrome bumpers with overriders. A set of window wings is included in the sale along with a red tonneau cover and a set of side curtains.
The chrome 15″ wire wheels feature two-eared knock-off hubs and are mounted with Firestone F560 radial tires that were installed in July 2018. A spare painted wire wheel is fitted in the trunk, and a set of four painted wire wheels is included in the sale. The suspension features Bilstein shocks and custom front and rear sway bars. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, and stainless steel lines are fitted. A brake fluid flush was performed in October 2020.
The left-hand-drive cabin was reupholstered during the 1990s refurbishment and features twin bucket seats trimmed in red leather with white piping. Matching carpets and door panels are fitted, and equipment includes a heater, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, lap belts, and an upholstered center armrest.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows under 57k miles.
The 2,660cc inline-four was reportedly fitted with 100M-style components under previous ownership and was rebuilt by British Car Specialists of Stockton, California, in 2014. Features include twin 1¾” SU HS6 carburetors, an alloy Fast Road cylinder head, 100M-style 88.5 mm steel dished pistons, a high-lift camshaft, a heavy-duty oil pump, an oil cooler, an aluminum carburetor manifold, a cold air box and intake, and electronic ignition, a high-speed starter, an alternator, a Texas Kooler fan, and an aluminum radiator.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. A Jaguar clutch is fitted.
