This 1969 Oldsmobile 442 convertible was purchased new by the seller’s father from Ross Wemp Motors in Ontario, Canada. The car is finished in red over Parchment vinyl and is powered by a 400ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. This 1969 Oldsmobile 442 convertible was purchased new by the seller’s father from Ross Wemp Motors in Ontario, Canada. The car is finished in red over Parchment vinyl and is powered by a 400ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include white hood stripes, a white soft top, chrome bumpers, bucket seats, and 14″ wheels with wire covers.
The car was repainted in red with white stripes during the 1990s, and the bumpers were re-chromed in the mid-2000s. The right door was repaired in the 1970s following a collision, and flaws include tears in the replacement soft top fabric, corrosion on the top frame, missing rubber bumper trim, pitting on the door handles, and scratches in the paintwork.
14″ steel wheels feature wire covers and wear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with power steering and front disc brakes.
The cabin features Parchment vinyl seats along with black carpets and a center console with polished trim. The top boot is a replacement, and an aftermarket Pioneer cassette stereo is installed. Flaws include tears in the driver seat, screwed-on door panels, wear and discoloration on the door panel armrests, broken gear selector trim, and separation on the convertible top liner. Corrosion is present on the right floorboards.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a clock, auxiliary gauges, and a five-digit odometer showing 4k miles. The odometer has rolled over, and total mileage is unknown.
The 400ci V8 was rebuilt in the 2000s and is said to have accumulated approximately 4k miles since the work was completed. The carburetor was also rebuilt in the 2000s and the distributor, cap, rotor, wires, and motor mounts were also replaced at that time. The oil was changed in mid-2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Corrosion is noted on suspension, drivetrain, and exhaust components.
